Junior Auxiliary of the Eastern Shore

“Snack Pack Program”

During this unprecedented time within our local community and world due to the COVID-19 crisis and school closures throughout our area, Junior Auxiliary of the Eastern Shore recognized the need to continue to feed our local children who otherwise depend on school breakfast and lunches each day in order to eat and not go hungry.

With the help of the Rotary Youth Club (Fairhope) and the Universal African Church (Daphne) Junior Auxiliary of the Eastern Shore has the privilege to handout and distribute “snack packs” to our local children who are most in need.

Using all of the safety protocols of the CDC & practicing “social distancing”, Junior Auxiliary of the Eastern Shore members are able to independently shop in bulk, package and label our snack packs to be delivered to children in need throughout our local community without physical contact. These prepackaged snack packs consist of 5 days worth of breakfast items, snacks and some drinks in order to supplement meals for local school-aged children who otherwise might go hungry. For some children, this is the only “food” they are currently getting.

We are currently packaging and distributing approximately 70 snack packs a week to those children who are most in need. We know we cannot assist everyone, but it is our hope, with the assistance of our community, to reach as many of the children and families who are in need during this time as possible. We have the ability to do more, with the right resources. It is our hope to continue this program through the remainder of the school year (end of May). If we continue to have the resources available we would love to continue even longer than that.

As a community, we WELCOME YOU to join our efforts!!! How can you help???
